Western Star Resources Appoints Goldman Sachs Alum to Board as Tungsten Focus Sharpens

Western Star Resources Inc. (CSE: WSR) (OTC: WSRIF) (FRA: 4K2) has appointed Garland Scott to its board of directors effective September 11, 2026. Scott brings 26 years of experience in financial services, business development, and strategic consulting, having previously held senior roles at Bank of America and Goldman Sachs. His background includes working with financial advisors and high-net-worth clients, delivering institutional investment solutions. He later served as Business Development and Consultant Director at SEM Wealth Management and as Chief Growth Officer of On3 Strategies. Scott holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst® designation and degrees in Psychology and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

The appointment matters for Western Star as the junior miner seeks to revitalize North America's tungsten supply and advance past-producing tungsten assets in historically important U.S. mining districts. Tungsten is a critical mineral essential for defense, aerospace, and industrial applications, and the U.S. currently relies heavily on imports. Western Star's strategy positions it to benefit from growing demand for secure domestic supply chains. Scott's experience at Goldman Sachs and his wealth management background could help the company attract investors and structure financing as it moves its projects forward.

CEO Blake Morgan said, "We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Scott to the Board. His background at leading firms such as Goldman Sachs will be instrumental in helping Western Star take that next step forward." Morgan also noted that the company will have updates regarding assays on the Rowland, White Star, and Eagle point properties very soon. Those assay results could provide key data on the potential of the company's tungsten assets and are highly anticipated by the market.

In a separate move, Western Star has entered into an Investor Awareness Agreement with Market Equities Limited (MEL) dated September 11, 2026. MEL will provide branding services, communications, advisory, and general consulting, including SEO, digital media campaigns, media consulting, business development, multimedia services, and project management. MEL will also write and distribute weekly ticker tag articles highlighting the company in sector-based analysis, as well as news-based tags when the company has a new event. The fee is $100,000 USD for a two-month term upon acceptance by the Canadian Securities Exchange. The agreement may be renewed at the end of the initial term. MEL and the company operate at arm's length, and neither MEL nor its principals have any interest in Western Star's securities.

The investor awareness agreement underscores Western Star's efforts to increase visibility and engage with the investment community as it advances its tungsten projects. For a junior exploration company, such campaigns can be crucial for building a shareholder base and improving liquidity. Combined with Scott's appointment and the upcoming assay results, Western Star appears to be positioning itself for a period of increased activity and potential news flow. The company's focus on tungsten, a critical mineral with limited domestic production in the U.S., aligns with broader government and industry efforts to secure supply chains. As Western Star continues to develop its assets, the market will be watching for the promised assay updates and any further strategic moves.
