Ucore Rare Metals Inc. (TSX.V: UCU) (OTCQX: UURAF) has submitted its final reporting under Phase 1 of its Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) with the US Department of War to the US Army Contracting Command – Orlando. The submission includes a Final Demonstration Report and Techno-Economic Analysis for work completed at its RapidSX(TM) Commercialization and Demonstration Facility. This milestone underscores progress in developing domestic rare earth processing capabilities, a strategic priority for the United States.
The report details approximately 6,000 hours of simulated commercial operation and more than 10,000 recovery and purity comparison points. Results demonstrate that Ucore’s proprietary RapidSX platform efficiently executed solvent extraction chemistry and produced thousands of liters of rare earth chloride products. According to the company, this supports the platform’s scalability and capital efficiency compared with conventional solvent extraction methods.
The significance of this development lies in its potential to reduce reliance on foreign rare earth supply chains, particularly from the People’s Republic of China, which currently dominates the market. Ucore’s broader vision includes establishing a heavy and light rare-earth processing facility in Louisiana, followed by additional separation and processing centers in Canada and Alaska. The company also holds a 100% interest in the Bokan-Dotson Ridge Rare Heavy REE Project in Southeast Alaska.
