Trilogy Metals Announces Coordinated Permitting Schedule for Arctic Project, Targeting September 2028 Record of Decision

Trilogy Metals Inc. (NYSE American: TMQ) (TSX: TMQ) announced that a coordinated federal and state permitting schedule for its flagship Arctic Project in Alaska has been published on the Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council's Permitting Dashboard. The schedule confirms the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as the lead federal agency for environmental review and outlines a targeted Record of Decision in September 2028 for the copper-zinc-lead-gold-silver project being advanced by Ambler Metals, Trilogy's 50/50 joint venture with South32.

The published timeline integrates federal and Alaska state permitting under the state's FAST-41 memorandum of understanding, providing a single, publicly tracked roadmap for project approvals. According to the company, the schedule targets an approximately 29-month review period from its April 2026 Clean Water Act Section 404 permit application to the Record of Decision, reflecting a more streamlined process than historical permitting timelines. This coordination is expected to reduce uncertainty and provide a clear path forward for the project.

Trilogy Metals holds a 50 percent interest in Ambler Metals LLC, which owns 100 percent of the Upper Kobuk Mineral Projects (UKMP) in northwestern Alaska. The UKMP is located within the Ambler Mining District, one of the richest and most prospective known copper-dominant districts in the world. It hosts polymetallic VMS deposits containing copper, zinc, lead, gold, and silver, as well as carbonate replacement deposits with high-grade copper and cobalt mineralization. Exploration efforts have focused on two deposits: the Arctic VMS deposit and the Bornite carbonate replacement deposit, both within a land package spanning approximately 190,929 hectares.

The company emphasized that the streamlined permitting process is crucial for advancing the project toward production. By aligning federal and state reviews under a single timeline, the Arctic Project can move forward more efficiently, potentially reducing delays that have historically plagued large-scale mining developments in Alaska. The partnership with South32 and the support from local communities through the agreement with NANA Regional Corporation further strengthen the project's foundation.
