Trailbreaker Resources Ltd. (TBK.V) has completed its maiden diamond drill program at the Highlands Zone and mobilized the drill to the Swan Zone at the company's 100%-owned Atsutla Gold Project in northwestern British Columbia, Canada. The announcement marks a significant step in exploring two distinct mineralized zones 26 kilometers apart, hosted in different geological units.
The Highlands Zone, hosted in the Jurassic Christmas Creek batholith, was tested with four holes totaling 883.40 meters, targeting high-grade vein-hosted gold, silver, and copper showings. Drilling covered a strike length of 500 meters and a vertical extent of 412 meters, as detailed in the June 29, 2026 news release. The Swan Zone, hosted in the Cretaceous Glundebery batholith, is a copper-gold-silver porphyry target that has never been drilled, despite limited historic drilling in the adjacent valley.
CEO Daithi Mac Gearailt noted that the Swan Zone has become one of the most compelling targets in the company's portfolio, developed over five years through systematic exploration including geological mapping, soil geochemical surveys, induced polarization (IP), and airborne magnetic surveying. The Highlands program was completed on schedule and within budget, and drilling at the Swan Zone is expected to proceed similarly.
The Swan Zone target is defined by a 1.5 km x 1.5 km multi-element soil geochemical anomaly (Au-Cu-Ag-As-Mo-Sb-Bi), with rock grab samples grading up to 11.7 g/t gold, 212 g/t silver, and 0.81% copper. This anomaly coincides with a 2.1 km x 1.4 km donut-shaped chargeability high from a 2024 IP survey, as well as a zone of elevated potassium marked by a magnetic low from 2024 airborne magnetic and radiometric surveys. The upcoming drill program will test an estimated strike length of 1,000 meters to a vertical depth exceeding 400 meters, aiming to improve understanding of mineralization controls and deposit model for future campaigns.
Trailbreaker also plans to drill several Cu-Au porphyry targets at the Coho property, 30 km northwest of the Mt. Milligan mine in central BC, in September 2026, as outlined in the May 25, 2026 news release.
The Atsutla Gold Project is centered on the regional Teslin-Thibert fault system, marking the contact between Quesnel and Cache Creek terranes. Since discovery in 2020, Trailbreaker has outlined five significant gold zones across 26 kilometers: Highlands, Christmas Creek, Snook, Willie Jack, and Swan. Rock samples from these zones have returned assays of up to 630 g/t gold and 1,894 g/t silver at Highlands, and 102 g/t gold at Christmas Creek.
