Stabilus SE Bundles Automation Expertise Under Stabilus4Automation, Targets EUR 500 Million in New Product Revenue

Stabilus SE (WKN: STAB1L, ISIN: DE000STAB1L8), a global leader in motion control solutions, is strengthening its position in industrial automation by bundling its expert brands under the new umbrella brand Stabilus4Automation. The initiative aims to deliver integrated solutions for automated production processes, including robotics, leveraging the combined expertise of Stabilus, ACE, Destaco, Fabreeka, and Hahn Gasfedern.

The global addressable market for end-of-arm tooling, gripping systems, and robotic tooling solutions is estimated at approximately EUR 3 billion, with double-digit growth expected amid increasing automation across industries. Stabilus CEO Dr. Michael Buchsner stated, "Industrial automation is an important growth area for Stabilus. With Stabilus4Automation, we are leveraging synergies within the group to further develop our technology portfolio and offer integrated solutions for demanding automation applications, which also explicitly includes solutions in robotics."

Growth through new products is a core element of the company’s strategy: over the long term, around EUR 500 million in revenue are to be generated from innovative products that deliver above-average margin levels. The Automation segment, including robotics, is expected to make a significant contribution to this target.

Stabilus plans to gradually implement selected automation solutions in its own production plants to optimize manufacturing processes and incorporate practical experience into product development. In industrial robotics, existing Stabilus Group products are increasingly deployed for controlled movement, damping, and vibration reduction in highly dynamic processes. The company is also exploring the research domain of humanoid robots.

Jurgen Roland, Head of the business unit Industrial Components, noted, "We view industrial automation as an integrated system of the required movements – from the gripper and vibration isolation to drive solution. In the field of cobots and robots with small payloads, we already offer powerful end-of-arm tools and advanced solutions. We are already working with more than 100 partners worldwide in the field of robotics."

An example of the group-wide approach is a handling solution developed jointly by Destaco and ACE, combining automation expertise and damping technology into an end-of-arm tool that integrates ACE’s MC series miniature shock absorbers to enhance handling of packages of varying sizes. These modular, scalable solutions can be flexibly integrated into existing production lines.

Driven by trends such as the shortage of skilled workers and increasing quality requirements, industrial automation and robotics continue to gain importance, offering additional growth prospects for Stabilus in industrial end markets with long-term investment logic.
