Silvercorp Metals Completes Kyrgyz Gold Joint Venture, Advances Tulkubash Development

Silvercorp Metals Inc. (TSX: SVM) (NYSE American: SVM) has completed the conversion of Chaarat ZAAV CJSC into a joint venture company with Kyrgyzaltyn, a wholly owned entity of the Kyrgyz Republic. Under the terms, Silvercorp holds a 70% interest as operator, while Kyrgyzaltyn retains a 30% free-carried interest. The joint venture holds the fully permitted Tulkubash/Kyzyltash gold projects, along with surrounding exploration licenses in the Tien Shan region of the Kyrgyz Republic. The company has approved Phase 1 development of Tulkubash for 2026-2027.

Silvercorp also announced that ZAAV secured an extension of its mining license from 2032 to 2062, a significant milestone that provides long-term operational certainty. Following the license extension, Silvercorp made a $60 million cash payment to the Kyrgyzstan government under its cooperation agreement, with an additional $10 million payment tied to future milestones. This investment underscores Silvercorp's commitment to the region and its strategy of generating free cash flow from long-life mines.

The Tulkubash project is fully permitted, reducing development risk and positioning Silvercorp to advance toward production. The joint venture structure with Kyrgyzaltyn aligns the interests of the company and the Kyrgyz government, fostering a cooperative environment for mining operations. Silvercorp's role as operator allows it to drive development while benefiting from the government's stake.

Silvercorp is a Canadian mining company producing silver, gold, lead, and zinc, with a long history of profitability and growth potential. The company's strategy focuses on generating free cash flow from long-life mines, organic growth through extensive drilling, ongoing merger and acquisition efforts, and a long-term commitment to responsible mining and ESG. The Tulkubash project aligns with these goals, offering a new source of precious metals production in a politically stable jurisdiction.

The extension of the mining license to 2062 provides a clear timeline for development and production, enhancing the project's value. The $60 million payment is a substantial commitment, but it secures access to a significant gold resource. The additional $10 million milestone payment further ties Silvercorp's success to project advancement, ensuring continued investment in infrastructure and community development.

This announcement comes as part of a broader trend of mining companies securing long-term agreements in Central Asia. The Kyrgyz Republic has been actively seeking foreign investment to develop its mineral wealth, and Silvercorp's joint venture is a testament to the country's improving investment climate. The Tulkubash project is expected to create jobs, generate tax revenue, and contribute to local economic development.
