Rubean AG, a Munich-based fintech company, announced that its software point-of-sale (SoftPOS) app is now active on over 150,000 terminals, nearly double the approximately 80,000 terminals recorded in early July 2025. The company, listed on m:access and over-the-counter venues under the symbol R1B:GR, attributes this growth to increasing adoption of its cashless payment solution across Europe.
Co-CEO Jochen Pielage stated that the significant increase in user numbers supports the company's recently published revenue and earnings forecast. At the annual shareholders' meeting in early July, the Executive Board projected consolidated revenue for the current year to reach between 5.0 million and 6.0 million euros, up from 3.71 million euros in the previous year. Recurring revenue is expected to more than double in 2026, driven by the continued expansion of the SoftPOS app's user base.
Co-CEO Stephan Kuck emphasized that the sustained growth in app usage will enable the company to achieve monthly breakeven in 2027 and close the entire year with positive net income for the first time. Rubean's technology replaces traditional card readers with a software app that can be replicated without the logistical overhead of additional hardware, allowing small and large retailers, the food service industry, delivery services, and other commercial enterprises to accept cashless and mobile payments.
The company is already a market leader in Germany and Spain for SoftPOS solutions. Its PhonePOS solution enables merchants to accept card payments directly on their smartphones without needing an additional device. This solution is used by payment service providers, major banks, retailers, and large retail chains throughout Europe and is the only SoftPOS solution that supports the girocard (EC card) in Germany.
