Rubean AG Reports Strong Revenue Growth and Positive Outlook for 2027

Rubean AG, a Munich-based FinTech company specializing in software-only point-of-sale (SoftPOS) solutions, is experiencing significant revenue growth and expects to achieve profitability in 2027. At the annual shareholders’ meeting on Wednesday in Munich, Co-CEO Jochen Pielage announced that consolidated revenue for 2026 is projected to reach between €5.0 million and €6.0 million, up from €3.71 million in the previous year. In the first half of 2026, revenue rose by over 50% to €2.4 million.

The company’s recurring revenue—fees from the use of its SoftPOS software—is growing strongly. Pielage stated, “Half of the 2026 annual revenue will already come from the particularly profitable recurring revenue. That is significantly more than in the previous year.” This shift toward recurring revenue is expected to more than double compared to 2025, underscoring the scalability of Rubean’s business model. The positive trend is projected to continue into 2027, with the company reaching monthly breakeven and closing the year with positive net income for the first time.

Rubean’s technology replaces traditional card readers with a software app that can be replicated on demand without the logistical overhead of additional hardware. This enables small and large retailers, restaurants, delivery services, and other businesses to accept cashless and mobile payments. The company is already a market leader in Germany and Spain and has successfully entered markets in Switzerland, France, the United Kingdom, and parts of North and South America, supported by major banks and payment service providers. Pielage noted, “We now work with 19 major banks, including the German Sparkassen, BBVA in Spain, and Commerzbank, as well as internationally active payment service providers.”

The groundwork for expanding sales operations has been laid with the addition of Stephan Kuck to the Executive Board. Rubean’s PhonePOS solution is the only SoftPOS that supports girocard (EC card) in Germany. The company is listed on m:access and over-the-counter trading venues, including XETRA.
