Q-NEX Launches Smart Lectern SL100 to Streamline Professional Presentation Spaces

As technology becomes increasingly integral to professional presentations, traditional lecterns are proving inadequate for the demands of modern speakers. Presenters often juggle multiple displays, content sources, and audio systems, yet conventional podiums offer little more than a surface for notes. To address this gap, Returnstar Technology has launched the Q-NEX Smart Lectern SL100, an integrated digital podium designed to unify audience communication, content interaction, and system control into a single streamlined device.

The SL100 features a dedicated 23.8-inch Full HD front-facing display that serves as a digital signage screen for meeting information, event schedules, and welcome messages. This eliminates the need for additional external displays or separate playback devices. Content can be played locally via USB or updated remotely through a mobile app, simplifying content management without adding extra hardware to the presentation setup.

For presenters, the lectern incorporates a 23.8-inch interactive pen and touch display paired with a built-in Windows PC. This allows direct access and operation of presentation materials from the lectern itself, much like using a personal computer. Supporting Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP)-compatible pens, the SL100 enables natural writing and annotation, reducing reliance on external laptops or separate interactive displays while providing a familiar user experience.

AV control is also streamlined. The SL100 integrates key functions such as 3×3 matrix switching, device control, presentation timing, and audio adjustment into an intuitive control panel. Crucially, these core local controls operate without internet connectivity, ensuring essential functions remain available even in environments with unstable networks or complex configurations. This makes the lectern easier to deploy in diverse settings, from executive meeting rooms to professional training spaces.

For organizations managing multiple presentation venues, the SL100 extends beyond the room through integration with the Q-NEX Platform. Administrators can remotely manage the lectern and connected devices via a web console or mobile app, offering a practical solution for maintaining presentation technology across various locations. This capability contrasts with traditional lecterns that rely solely on local operation, enhancing efficiency for IT teams overseeing multiple spaces.

The SL100 joins the broader Q-NEX Digital Podium Series, which includes the freestanding NDP200 for larger venues like auditoriums and the desktop NDP600 for classrooms with existing furniture. While each model addresses specific spatial needs, all share a unified approach that combines presentation, AV control, interaction, and device management into one coordinated solution. By integrating these functions, Q-NEX aims to simplify operations and help organizations build more efficient, connected, and future-ready presentation environments.
