Pribanic & Pribanic, a Pittsburgh law firm, is sponsoring two community events this month in the White Oak and Mon Valley area: the Fido Food Truck Fest on Sept. 12 in White Oak and the Yough n Roll Bike Ride and Party on the Trail on Sept. 19 in Elizabeth Township. The sponsorships reflect the firm's ongoing dedication to the communities it serves, supporting causes that range from animal welfare to outdoor recreation along the Great Allegheny Passage.
The Fido Food Truck Fest is the fifth annual fundraiser for White Oak Animal Safe Haven, a no-kill animal shelter founded in 2003. The event runs from 2 to 6 p.m. at White Oak Volunteer Fire Department No. 1 and will include food trucks, basket raffles, a 50/50 raffle and mystery boxes. Last year's event raised about $10,000 to help fund the shelter's medical care, training, grooming and adoption programs. This financial support is critical for a nonprofit that relies on community contributions to maintain its no-kill mission and provide necessary services for animals in need.
The Yough n Roll Bike Ride and Party on the Trail is organized by the Mon/Yough Trail Council, an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization with more than 500 members that maintains 15 miles of the Great Allegheny Passage. The 32nd annual event starts at Boston Riverfront Park and Rhino Memorial Field and offers 20- and 40-mile bike routes along the Youghiogheny River, along with a shorter Family Fun Ride for families. A community party follows the ride with music, local artists, historians, food, giveaways, children's games and representatives from area public safety agencies. Last year the trail hosted visitors from 48 states and 20 countries, and volunteers logged more than 5,000 hours maintaining the trail. Tim Banfield is the Mon/Yough Trail Council's contact for the event. More information is available at thebostontrail.com.
These sponsorships are significant because they demonstrate Pribanic & Pribanic's commitment to the well-being of the White Oak and Mon Valley communities beyond its legal practice. By supporting the Fido Food Truck Fest, the firm helps sustain a vital animal shelter that provides a safe haven for countless animals. The shelter's programs not only rescue and rehome animals but also offer medical care and training, which are essential for successful adoptions. The event's fundraising success directly impacts the shelter's ability to operate and expand its services.
Similarly, the firm's backing of the Yough n Roll Bike Ride and Party on the Trail promotes outdoor recreation and the preservation of the Great Allegheny Passage. The trail is a regional asset that attracts visitors from across the nation and around the world, boosting local tourism and providing a space for healthy activities. The Mon/Yough Trail Council's volunteer efforts ensure the trail remains accessible and enjoyable for all. Sponsorships like this help cover the costs of maintenance and event organization, ensuring that the trail continues to be a cherished resource.
Pribanic & Pribanic's involvement in these events highlights the importance of corporate community engagement. It sets an example for other businesses to support local initiatives that enhance quality of life. The firm's long history of representing injured Pittsburghers extends to a broader commitment to the region's social fabric. By investing in these events, Pribanic & Pribanic helps build stronger, more connected communities.
