New York CityPASS Adds Edge and Whitney, Cuts Price in Flexible Overhaul

City Pass, Inc. has announced significant upgrades to its New York CityPASS program, introducing a fully flexible ticket format, two new attractions, and a price reduction. The changes, effective immediately, allow travelers to choose any five attractions from a curated list of ten premier New York experiences. This move matters because it gives visitors greater control over their itinerary while making world-class attractions more accessible and affordable, potentially reshaping how tourists plan their trips to New York City.

The new lineup includes the Edge Observation Deck & Immersive Experience and the Whitney Museum of American Art. Edge, located at Hudson Yards, is the highest indoor and outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere, suspended over 1,100 feet above Manhattan. It offers a glass floor, angled glass walls, and 360-degree views. Recently transformed into a multi-sensory attraction, it features permanent installations such as NYC’s largest kaleidoscope, the Pulse infinity room with 450 glowing orbs, and a canopy of giant crystals in the Crystal Cave. The Whitney Museum, in the Meatpacking District, is renowned for its collection of 20th- and 21st-century American art, including works by Edward Hopper, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Andy Warhol. It also hosts cutting-edge exhibitions and offers outdoor terraces overlooking the Hudson River and the High Line.

“These updates give travelers more control over how they experience New York,” said Megan Allen, president and CEO of City Pass, Inc. “By moving to a fully flexible format, adding new attractions and lowering the ticket price, New York CityPASS tickets offer even greater value and make it easier than ever for visitors to build the New York experience that's right for them, whether they're drawn to breathtaking views, world-class art, iconic landmarks or cultural institutions.”

The price reduction is notable: adult tickets drop from $164 to $149, and child tickets from $136 to $129. Advertised savings increase to as much as 51%. This makes New York CityPASS more competitive and could attract budget-conscious travelers. The full attraction lineup includes the Empire State Building Observation Deck, American Museum of Natural History, Top of the Rock Observation Deck, 9/11 Memorial & Museum, Statue of Liberty Grounds and Ellis Island Official Ferry, Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises, Intrepid Museum, and Guggenheim Museum, alongside the two new additions.

Tickets remain valid for nine consecutive days from first use, and digital tickets are delivered via email and linked to the My CityPASS app. The app allows users to make and change reservations, access attraction details and directions, and receive entry instructions. It also provides notifications, special offers, and trip-planning information. This digital integration enhances convenience, especially for international visitors navigating multiple attractions.

For nearly 30 years, CityPASS tickets have helped travelers discover North America's top attractions with greater value and convenience. Available in 17 destinations, they provide prepaid admission and savings of up to 50% off combined admission prices. With over 30 million travelers served and an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars from more than 88,000 reviews, the brand is well-established. The New York enhancements reflect a broader trend in tourism toward flexibility and personalization, which could influence how other cities structure their attraction passes.
