Makailah Fuentes has turned her passion for creativity into a business with the opening of Maks Glamm, a new salon located within the Salon and Spa Galleria Weatherford in Weatherford, Texas. The salon, which began accepting appointments this month, offers a comprehensive suite of beauty services and represents a notable expansion of independent beauty professionals in the region.
Fuentes, a licensed cosmetologist and certified lash artist, graduated from Cisco College in May 2025 and immediately set her sights on entrepreneurship. "I love being creative and making people feel beautiful and confident," Fuentes said. "This truly is a creative outlet for me." Her decision to launch her own business reflects a growing trend of cosmetologists seeking autonomy and direct client relationships through suite-based salon models.
At Maks Glamm, clients can access a wide array of services, including shampoo, blowdry, haircut and style; color; full and partial highlights; balayage; toner; and root touchup. The salon also provides GelX nails and lashes, along with braiding services such as French and Dutch braids, with options to add beads or charms.
