MRH Switzerland AG Outperforms Declining Swiss Hotel Market in H1 2026, Reports Revenue Growth and Improved RevPAR

MRH Switzerland AG, the hotel division of AEVIS VICTORIA SA, has reported continued growth in the first half of 2026, despite a slightly declining Swiss hotel market. The company's consolidated revenue rose by 1.0% to CHF 104.9 million, with accommodation revenue increasing to CHF 61.5 million and food and beverage revenue reaching CHF 38.0 million. This performance underscores the portfolio's resilience and qualitative outperformance in a challenging environment.

According to provisional data from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO), the Swiss hotel industry recorded 16.2 million overnight stays between January and May 2026, a 0.3% decrease compared to the same period in 2025. June estimates indicate a 2.2% decline in overnight stays, including a 4.6% drop in foreign demand. Based on these figures, the Swiss hotel market is expected to decline by approximately 0.7% for the first half of 2026. In contrast, MRH achieved a 1.0% increase in revenue, a 2.8% rise in average room rate to CHF 651, and a 3.2% improvement in RevPAR to CHF 354. The occupancy rate remained virtually stable at 54.3%.

The increase in RevPAR is primarily attributed to an improvement in average rate rather than occupancy, demonstrating MRH's ability to create value through property positioning, pricing discipline, and service quality. The EBITDAR margin, a key indicator given AEVIS's integrated real estate structure, is expected to remain largely stable at historically high levels, driven by an increase in the food and beverage margin to 16.6% and effective cost control.

MRH continues its strategy focused on revenue quality, pricing discipline, and operational performance enhancement, leveraging synergies between AEVIS's hotel portfolio and Michel Reybier Hospitality's expertise. The company enters the second half of 2026 with confidence, while remaining attentive to international demand, geopolitical volatility, and general economic conditions.

MRH Switzerland AG operates eleven hotels in premium destinations including Zurich, Interlaken, Bern, Crans Montana, Zermatt, Davos, Flims, and London, managing a portfolio with 1,180 rooms and employing 1,153 staff. The chain is a wholly-owned subsidiary of AEVIS VICTORIA SA.
