MAX Power Mining Corp. (CSE: MAXX; OTC: MAXXF; FRANKFURT: 89N) announced a major expansion of its natural hydrogen permit holdings in Saskatchewan, acquiring provincial permits covering an additional 660,263 acres (2,672 square kilometers) across south-central Saskatchewan. This increases the company's total permitted holdings by more than 50% to approximately 2 million acres across 12 projects, according to a press release.
The newly acquired lands include the Aurora Project, a 628-square-kilometer area adjoining the existing Lawson project, creating a contiguous 90-kilometer corridor with potential for multiple natural hydrogen discoveries and commercialization pathways. The corridor is positioned near highway, rail, heavy industry, and emerging artificial intelligence infrastructure, which could facilitate future development.
MAX Power also added the Ogema and Kyle projects, expanded the Grasslands Project through the Fox Valley target area, and secured additional permits at the Lawson, Radville, and Tribune projects. The company is currently conducting commercial-validation drilling at Lawson Complex #1, Canada's first confirmed subsurface natural hydrogen system, while it and independent consultant GLJ Ltd. review data from the newly permitted areas.
This expansion strengthens MAX Power's position as a leader in natural hydrogen exploration in Canada. The company's Lawson Discovery near Central Butte, Saskatchewan, represents the first-ever subsurface natural hydrogen system confirmed through deep drilling in Canada, with data validated by three independent labs. MAX Power has built dominant district-scale land positions across Saskatchewan with approximately 1.3 million acres of permits covering prime exploration ground prospective for large-volume accumulations of natural hydrogen.
In addition to its hydrogen projects, MAX Power holds a portfolio of properties in the United States and Canada focused on critical minerals, highlighted by a 2024 diamond drilling discovery at the Willcox Playa Lithium Project in southeast Arizona, 100%-owned by its U.S. subsidiary. The company is committed to responsible exploration and development practices that prioritize environmental stewardship, meaningful community engagement, and strong corporate governance.
