MAX Power Mining Corp. (CSE: MAXX; OTC: MAXXF; FRANKFURT: 89N) has reported significant progress in its commercial validation drilling at the Lawson Complex in south-central Saskatchewan, expanding what is recognized as Canada's first subsurface natural hydrogen system. The company announced that the completion of the Lawson 3 well has helped triangulate the large-scale hydrogen system, while drilling at Lawson 4, located more than 2 kilometers to the west, has further extended its known boundaries.
At Lawson 4, the company intersected what it interprets as a significant deep crustal fault or conduit at a depth of 2,310.5 meters. This intersection recorded the highest natural hydrogen readings to date at the Lawson project, with readings remaining elevated as drilling progresses through a highly fractured Precambrian basement complex. These findings underscore the potential for substantial hydrogen accumulations in the region, which could have major implications for the emerging clean energy sector.
In addition to the drilling results, MAX Power is preparing for its largest step-out hole yet, Lawson 5, which will target the edge of the 'Salt Wall' approximately 27 to 31 kilometers northeast of the current drilling area. This ambitious expansion reflects the company's confidence in the scale of the hydrogen system and its commitment to thoroughly exploring its extent.
Further bolstering its position, MAX Power has added eight new natural hydrogen permit parcels covering approximately 470,000 acres, bringing its total permitted land position in Saskatchewan to roughly 2.5 million acres. This dominant district-scale land position provides the company with extensive exploration ground prospective for large-volume accumulations of natural hydrogen, positioning it as a key player in the race to develop this clean energy resource.
