The Martial Arts History Museum will induct martial arts pioneer and fitness innovator Billy Blanks into its Hall of Fame on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 4 p.m. The ceremony honors Blanks for his creation of Tae Bo, a program that blended traditional martial arts with high-energy aerobics and reshaped the global fitness landscape.
According to the museum, the Hall of Fame is its highest honor, reserved for individuals who have gone beyond expectations to elevate martial arts history. Blanks' invention of Tae Bo introduced millions to martial arts disciplines, making them accessible to people of all backgrounds. The museum notes that his work transcended cultural and geographic boundaries, inspiring a worldwide movement focused on health and personal growth.
During the event, the museum will unveil Blanks' original Tae Bo shorts for permanent display. The artifact symbolizes the cultural impact of Tae Bo, which brought martial arts into homes and gyms globally. Blanks' name will also be added to the museum's Hall of Fame wall.
