Main Event, the family entertainment center, is facing an unusual challenge ahead of its grand opening in Woodbury, Minnesota: 10 bowling pins have gone missing. The company announced on July 17 that the missing shipment never reached its final destination, prompting a community-wide search to recover the pins before the August 3 opening at Tamarack Hills, 540 Bielenberg Drive.
Starting July 19 through July 28, locals can visit Main Event's lost pins page for daily clues about where the pins are hidden. Each recovered pin unlocks a VIP invite for five and a full year of free games. The person who finds the Golden Pin will win Main Event for life.
"We are so excited to bring the Main Event experience to Minnesota, but we need the community's detective skills to help us get our lanes ready for action," said Michael Frisby, General Manager of the Woodbury Main Event. "We've hidden these pins throughout Woodbury, and we can't wait to see who can track them down and claim their prize before our grand opening on August 3!"
The new venue will offer nonstop entertainment including laser tag, bowling, arcade games, and more. Guests can enjoy a full-service restaurant and bar featuring dishes such as the Buffalo Ranch Chicken Sandwich, Funnel Cake Fries, and drinks like the Cotton Candy Shirley Temple and Margarita Flight. The space is designed for friends and families to enjoy interactive games, friendly competition, and great food and drinks.
Main Event, founded in 1998 and headquartered in Coppell, Texas, operates over 60 locations in 23 states. It is owned and operated by Dave & Buster's Entertainment, Inc., which offers premier entertainment and dining experiences through two brands: Dave & Buster's and Main Event. Dave & Buster's has 182 stores in 43 states, Puerto Rico, and Canada. For more information about each brand, visit Dave & Buster's website and Main Event's website.
The scavenger hunt underscores the company's effort to generate excitement and community engagement ahead of the opening. The missing pins serve as a creative marketing tactic to draw attention to the new location, which aims to become a central hub for family entertainment in Woodbury.
