Lahontan Gold Strengthens Management Team as Santa Fe Mine Advances Toward 2027 Production Restart

Lahontan Gold Corp. (TSX.V: LG) (OTCQB: LGCXF) has announced the addition of three experienced professionals to its management team, a strategic move that underscores the company's transition from mine developer to mine builder as it targets a 2027 production restart at the Santa Fe Mine in Nevada.

Tony Gesualdo rejoins Lahontan as vice president of exploration, a role he previously held from 2020 to 2023. During his earlier tenure, Gesualdo was instrumental in contributing to the initial Mineral Resource Estimate for the Santa Fe Mine, providing valuable continuity as the company advances its exploration and development efforts. Michael Kubel joins as senior mine engineer, bringing over a decade of experience in Nevada open-pit gold mining and heap-leach operations, with prior work at the Florida Canyon and Hycroft mines. Jen Earle will oversee investor relations and business development, leveraging two decades of experience in natural resources, capital markets, and investor engagement across the LSE, ASX, and TSX markets.

Kimberly Ann, founder, executive chair, CEO, and president of Lahontan Gold, emphasized that these additions strengthen the company's technical, operational, and business development capabilities as it advances Santa Fe's permitting, mine planning, and the planned transition toward construction and operations. The new hires come at a critical time as Lahontan aims to update the Santa Fe Preliminary Economic Assessment and drill test its satellite West Santa Fe project during 2025.

The Santa Fe Mine project, Lahontan's flagship property, spans 26.4 km² and previously produced 359,202 ounces of gold and 702,067 ounces of silver between 1988 and 1995 through open-pit mining and heap-leach processing. The project hosts a National Instrument 43-101 compliant Indicated Mineral Resource of 1,539,000 ounces of gold equivalent (Au Eq) and an Inferred Mineral Resource of 411,000 ounces Au Eq, as detailed in the company's technical report. The Santa Fe project's resource estimate underscores its potential as a significant gold and silver asset in the Walker Lane region of Nevada.

These management additions are pivotal for Lahontan as it navigates the complexities of mine permitting and planning. The company's focus on advancing towards production is part of a broader strategy to capitalize on the project's existing infrastructure and resource base. With a strengthened team, Lahontan is better positioned to execute its development milestones and ultimately restart operations at Santa Fe.

The company's commitment to responsible development is reflected in its adherence to NI 43-101 standards, with technical content reviewed by qualified persons. As Lahontan progresses, the expertise of its expanded management team will be crucial in overcoming the technical and operational challenges ahead, potentially positioning the company as a notable mid-tier gold producer in Nevada.
