Kaufman & Company Launches Eight Brands to Clarify Its Expanding Real Estate and Infrastructure Platform

Kaufman & Company, the permanent capital holding company founded by Daniel Kaufman, has announced the launch of eight brands that will serve as the public face of its real estate and infrastructure work. The brands—Haven, Foundry, Trellis, Convivium, Everwell, District, Weekender, and ZeroPoint—organize the company's activities into three categories: Residential, Places, and Infrastructure. The move comes as the platform has grown to ten operating companies across residential development, workforce housing, AI infrastructure, and venture capital, making it increasingly difficult for outsiders to understand what the company does and for whom.

The new brands are designed to give each audience a clear answer about what they are getting, before they ever need to know which entity built it. For example, a family seeking an attainable home, a nurse looking for an apartment near the hospital, a retiree seeking an active community, and a hyperscale tenant needing power and capacity all have different needs. The brands aim to communicate those differences instantly. Each brand represents a community or asset class focus, not a separate legal entity, and every brand is endorsed by Kaufman & Company and operated by one of its ten operating companies. This structure ensures that the development discipline, balance sheet, and long-term ownership behind every address remain consistent.

Under the Residential category, Haven focuses on attainable housing, built on the belief that attainable housing is an infrastructure problem, not a charity problem. Foundry specializes in workforce housing near employment centers, transit, and everyday life, serving teachers, nurses, tradespeople, and first responders. Trellis targets the scalable middle market, building townhomes, cottages, and build-to-rent neighborhoods. Convivium is a vertically integrated platform for co-living, co-working, and hospitality communities, addressing both cost-burdened renters and those seeking community. Everwell is the active adult and independent living brand, designed for people who have no intention of slowing down.

In the Places category, District creates mixed-use destinations that combine living, working, dining, and gathering within walkable blocks. Weekender is a design-driven hospitality brand, building boutique and destination hotels around specific places rather than repeatable room counts. Under Infrastructure, ZeroPoint is the institutional brand for the physical buildings, power systems, and networks that run next-generation artificial intelligence and distributed computing. Its first deployment, Project Zero, is a working distributed micro data center prototype installed in Detroit, Michigan.

The rollout will continue over the next twelve months, with every asset in the current portfolio and future pipeline rebranded under the appropriate brand, including signage, websites, marketing materials, and resident-facing communications. Several pipeline communities have already moved to their new brands, including Haven at Shelburne, Foundry's Falls Landing, Trellis's Greenview Residences, and Everwell at Harpeth Reserve. New opportunities will launch under a brand from day one. The ten operating companies remain the builders and operators behind every brand, and existing partners, lenders, and municipal relationships continue unchanged.

This strategic branding initiative matters because it signals a maturing platform that seeks to reduce confusion and build trust with a wide range of stakeholders. By clearly delineating its offerings, Kaufman & Company positions itself to scale more effectively, attract the right partners for each asset class, and ensure that residents and cities know exactly what to expect. The year-long rollout underscores a commitment to getting the transition right, one community at a time, which could serve as a model for other diversified real estate firms grappling with similar complexity.
