Jones & Swanson, a Marietta-based personal injury law firm, has announced the addition of Ella J. Mitchell as the first female attorney in its history. This milestone comes as the firm continues to expand its legal team while maintaining its commitment to personalized client service and advocacy for injured individuals and their families.
Mitchell, a Marietta native, brings a unique perspective to the firm. After earning two bachelor's degrees from the University of Georgia in Political Science and International Affairs, she graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2025. During law school, she served on the editorial board of the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law and as Treasurer of the Georgia Student Trial Lawyers Association.
Before joining Jones & Swanson, Mitchell practiced insurance defense, giving her firsthand experience with how insurance companies evaluate and defend claims. This background now informs her approach to representing injured individuals. "Personal injury law is about more than the legal process," Mitchell said. "It is about the people behind each case. I value getting to know my clients, understanding what they have been through, and helping them navigate what can be an overwhelming process."
The firm's leadership expressed enthusiasm about the addition. "Having the first female attorney join our firm is an important milestone in the history of Jones & Swanson, but what makes this moment even more exciting is the person Ella is and the perspective she brings to our team," said a firm representative. "Having served as an insurance defense attorney, she has unique experience of what it's like on the other side of our cases."
Mitchell's arrival represents a new chapter for the firm, which has earned more than 500 Google reviews with a 5.0 rating and has recovered millions of dollars for clients in cases involving automobile accidents, motorcycle accidents, wrongful death, and trucking accidents. As a lifelong Marietta resident, Mitchell is eager to serve her community. "I am grateful to live and work in a community I have called home for so many years, and I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the people who make it such a special place," she said.
Jones & Swanson handles a wide range of personal injury matters, including car and truck accidents, catastrophic injuries, pedestrian accidents, slip and fall cases, dog bites, and wrongful death. The firm emphasizes individualized representation, taking time to understand each client's circumstances rather than treating them like case numbers. With offices in Marietta and Cartersville, the firm serves clients throughout Georgia, including Kennesaw, Acworth, Woodstock, Mableton, Sandy Springs, Dallas, and Roswell.
