Hong Kong Tech Delegation to Showcase Innovations at MWC and 4YFN 2026 in Barcelona

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), in collaboration with Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), will lead a delegation of 21 Hong Kong tech companies and institutions to showcase at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 and debut at 4 Years From Now (4YFN) 2026, taking place concurrently from 2-5 March in Barcelona, Spain. This initiative aims to expand market reach and demonstrate Hong Kong's innovation and technology (I&T) capabilities on a global stage.

Building on the momentum from MWC 2025, the delegation will feature solutions across Connectivity, Devices and Systems, Digital Transformation, and Ecosystem Partners. The dual presence at MWC and 4YFN is designed to provide a comprehensive picture of Hong Kong's I&T strengths, engaging global telecom leaders, enterprise decision-makers, industry partners, and investors. According to Iris Wong, Director of Merchandise Trade and Innovation at HKTDC, the Hong Kong Tech Pavilion serves as an ideal platform for tech enterprises to present their latest R&D achievements and explore overseas markets, while highlighting Hong Kong's role as an international I&T hub.

Derek Chim, Head of Startup Ecosystem and Development at HKSTP, emphasized that MWC is a global bellwether for communications technology, offering companies at any stage the opportunity to connect with industry and investors, validate solutions, catalyze pilot projects, accelerate commercialization, and scale internationally. Throughout the events, the Pavilion will host dialogues, networking receptions, themed talks, and pitching sessions to facilitate partnerships and investment opportunities for market-ready innovations.

Notable exhibitors include Shannon & Turing (Asmote) at MWC, which specializes in mmWave technology for Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC), particularly for drone communications and control, supporting Hong Kong's low-altitude economy initiatives. The company previously secured the world’s first 26GHz mmWave 5G commercial communications project. At 4YFN, Cresento will showcase its AI-powered shin guard that provides real-time performance analytics for football players, moving from prototypes to pilot collaborations with European football clubs and academies.

The collaboration between HKTDC and HKSTP underscores a continued effort to support Hong Kong tech enterprises in going global, bridging cutting-edge R&D into real-world applications. This initiative expedites internationalization, attracts talent, facilitates forward-looking investments, and consolidates Hong Kong's position as an international I&T hub.
