Giotto.ai Launches Free Cloud AI, Aiming for European Technological Sovereignty

Giotto.ai, the Swiss AI lab founded in 2017, today announced the launch of Giotto Cloud, a free cloud version of its general-purpose AI system, making advanced intelligence available to everyone without artificial usage caps. The move follows the recent release of its enterprise offering and marks a step toward the company's mission to become a civic AI infrastructure built in Switzerland and accessible globally.

According to Aldo Podesta, CEO and co-founder of Giotto.ai, "Artificial intelligence is becoming infrastructure. Access to advanced AI should not be reserved only for large corporations, hyperscalers, or closed foreign platforms. We are releasing an intelligent infrastructure that is open, accessible, and useful to people everywhere."

The free cloud version is hosted in Europe on latest-generation NVIDIA B300 hardware, reflecting Giotto.ai's commitment to European technological sovereignty, data proximity, and the development of AI systems operable within European infrastructure while remaining globally accessible. Giotto Cloud provides a general-purpose reasoning system capable of supporting writing, analysis, research, document work, coding assistance, and everyday productivity. It builds on Giotto.ai's research in advanced reasoning and test-time compute, as well as its experience developing enterprise-grade AI systems.

The launch represents a different model for AI access: not a closed platform or solely a commercial subscription product, but a public-facing intelligence layer available to everyone. "Europe should build, operate and make advanced intelligence available to everyone. Giotto Cloud is our contribution to that future: a free, intelligent AI system, built in Europe and open to the world," said Podesta.

Giotto.ai will continue to serve enterprises and institutions through its Download, Use, and Buy offering, allowing customers to deploy Giotto in controlled environments, access it through managed infrastructure, or acquire dedicated AI appliances. The free cloud version complements this strategy by making Giotto available to the broader public. For more information, view the original release on NewMediaWire.
