Pieri took over fostering Zeke after her friend, his original foster parent, became ill. "Helping care for Zeke also showed me how important foster networks are for rescue animals," she said. "Foster dogs rely on stability, routine, and kindness while they transition from uncertain pasts to hopeful futures. By stepping in while my friend was sick, I was able to help maintain that stability for him." Her actions demonstrate the critical role that foster networks play in the lives of rescue animals, providing them with the care and consistency they need during challenging transitions.
Beyond her volunteer work with animals, Pieri is pursuing dual degrees in Accounting and Economics with a minor in Commercial Entrepreneurship at Florida State University. She remains active in pageants and advocates for breast cancer research, and also volunteers with the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. Her commitment to service extends to her professional aspirations; she spent the summer of 2026 as a Receivable Intern at SBA Communications and is set to join CohnReznick as a Tax Intern in 2027.
After graduating, Pieri plans to pursue a Master's degree and sit for the CPA exam, aiming to specialize in tax and public accounting. Her experience with the scholarship and fostering Zeke has reinforced her desire to give back to her community in her future career.
