Fitzroy Minerals Inc. (TSXV: FTZ, OTCQX: FTZFF, FSE: C3Y) has released drilling results from the Tenorita area at the Buen Retiro Copper Project in Copiapo, Chile, highlighting wide zones of copper mineralization in leachable material near the surface. The results, from 15 drill holes (BRT-DDH066 to BRT-DDH080), underscore the project's potential for shallow, high-grade copper resources that could support a robust mine life.
Drill hole BRT-DDH072 returned 111.9 meters at 0.97% copper from 21.1 meters depth, including 18.0 meters at 1.59% copper from 84 meters. Another notable result came from drill hole BRT-DDH070, which intersected 147.7 meters at 0.41% copper from 26.3 meters, including 47.0 meters at 0.88% copper from 113 meters. These intersections are located in the south-central portion of the Tenorita area, covering approximately 300 meters east-west, as shown in cross-section A-A’ (see Figure 2).
Merlin Marr-Johnson, President and CEO of Fitzroy, commented: “Buen Retiro continues to deliver excellent results and several of the fifteen drill holes reported today reflect wide zones of mineralization in leachable material close to surface. Note that the best drill hole reported today, drill hole #72, is to the east of drill hole #70, confirming consistent shallow mineralization for about 300 metres across the widest part of the Tenorita area.” The company has four rigs turning at Buen Retiro, with the aim of completing the drill-out of the Tenorita area in August to stay on track for production in early 2028.
To date, Fitzroy has completed 78 diamond drill holes totaling 13,036 meters since February 2026. Drilling is ongoing with three diamond drill rigs and one reverse circulation rig. The drilling program has three key objectives: advancing the Tenorita area to Measured, Indicated, and Inferred resource categories for inclusion in a Pre-Feasibility Study; defining Inferred resources elsewhere on the property; and testing new exploration targets.
The company has implemented rigorous quality assurance and quality control procedures, including the insertion of blanks, standards, and pulp duplicates representing about 12% of total samples. Certified copper standards from INTEM are used to evaluate laboratory accuracy, while blanks test for contamination. No significant issues were identified in the QA/QC results. Dr. Scott Jobin-Bevans, a qualified person under NI 43-101, has reviewed and approved the technical information in this news release.
Fitzroy Minerals is focused on exploring and developing copper-focused mineral assets in the Americas. The Buen Retiro Copper Project is located near Copiapo, Chile, and the company also holds the Caballos Copper and Polimet Gold-Copper-Silver projects in Chile, the Taquetren Gold Project in Argentina, and the Caribou Project in Canada. Shares are listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol FTZ and on the OTCQX under FTZFF.
