FG Brands, the franchise platform behind Bare&Sol™ and facial collective®, has opened the beauty and wellness franchise industry's first dual-concept studio in Birmingham, Alabama, and is now offering this model to prospective franchisees nationwide. The studio, located in the Cahaba Village Plaza in Mountain Brook, has served the community since 2013, first as LA Bikini and, after FG Brands' acquisition and 2026 national rebrand, as Bare&Sol™. During the transition, the studio relocated a few doors down within the same center and underwent a complete remodel, adding facial collective® as a co-located sister brand, creating the first studio of its kind in the franchise industry.
The result is a single location now serving more than 1,000 members across both brands, with a significant share holding memberships in both. Facial care, hair removal, and airbrush tanning are highly complementary services, and the studio's opening membership numbers reflect the built-in convenience of offering all three under one roof. For prospective franchisees, Birmingham serves as a working proof of concept for what a dual-concept territory can deliver: two recurring-revenue membership brands sharing one lease, one team, and one base of foot traffic.
“Birmingham shows exactly what we set out to build with this dual-concept model,” said Jan Zalud, CEO of FG Brands. “This studio has been part of its community since 2013, and rather than start from scratch, we were able to reinvest in a proven location, remodel it, and bring facial collective alongside Bare&Sol under one roof. What makes this work is that each brand stays independent - facial collective focused on face care and aesthetics, Bare&Sol focused on hair removal and airbrush tanning. Neither one dilutes its expertise or identity by bolting on services outside its lane, which is a trap a lot of brands fall into as they try to grow. Guests get the convenience of both under one roof, and franchisees get two focused, proven businesses instead of one that's spread thin. We're excited to offer this same opportunity to franchisees across the country.”
As a franchise opportunity, combining the service lines of facial collective® and hair removal and airbrush tanning through Bare&Sol™ is design-built to take advantage of their membership-based business models, where recurring monthly revenue remains a key driver of strong unit-level economics.
This dual-concept studio represents a significant innovation in the franchise industry, offering a blueprint that could reshape how beauty and wellness franchises operate. By co-locating two distinct brands, FG Brands is able to maximize the use of real estate and staff while providing a more comprehensive service offering to customers. This model also allows franchisees to tap into two proven business models, potentially reducing risk and increasing revenue streams.
