The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) concluded its Fashion Hong Kong promotion in Paris on June 28, the final day of Paris Men's Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027. The campaign, held in partnership with Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl), featured a showroom at Rue de la Paix and a networking reception, drawing over 200 industry professionals. The event highlighted the creativity of Hong Kong designers and reinforced the city's role as an East-meets-West cultural hub.
The showroom presented Spring/Summer 2027 collections from Hong Kong brands, including apparel and accessories, attracting buyers and media from Europe and beyond. Designer labels MARCCH and Matter Matters debuted pieces created with Paris-based artist Yaz Bukey, underscoring creative exchange between Hong Kong and French designers. The networking reception on June 27 and a subsequent "Hong Kong Fashion Night dinner" provided opportunities for designers to build international connections and explore market expansion.
This promotion marked the first cross-sector collaboration between HKTDC and Hactl. Hactl, recognized for sustainability and innovation in air cargo logistics, contributed expertise in logistics and eco-friendly practices. Chris Lo, HKTDC Regional Director for Europe, Central Asia & Israel, noted that the partnership demonstrates Hong Kong's unique ability to combine creativity with connectivity, supporting designers while showcasing logistics excellence. Frosti Lau, Hactl Chief Executive, emphasized that the collaboration highlights how air cargo supports the fashion industry and promotes sustainability through energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and circular practices like uniform upcycling.
The initiative aligns with global trends in speed, connectivity, and sustainability in fashion. By integrating creativity, commerce, and professional services, the partnership helps Hong Kong brands expand internationally and respond to sustainability expectations. The HKTDC, through its global network of over 50 offices, continues to support local brands in accessing Chinese mainland and overseas markets. Since its launch in 2015, Fashion Hong Kong has promoted designers at major fashion weeks in New York, London, Paris, Copenhagen, Tokyo, Seoul, and Shanghai.
