DTLA ArtNight Expands into Fashion District, Uniting Downtown's Cultural Hubs

DTLA ArtNight, Downtown Los Angeles's monthly celebration of arts, culture, and community, has announced its largest expansion to date with the official addition of the Fashion District, beginning Thursday, August 6, 2026. The expansion connects Grand Avenue, the Historic Core, and the Fashion District into a unified cultural experience, introducing major new partnerships and activations throughout Downtown Los Angeles.

Michael Angelo DeLance, President of DTLA ArtNight and Happening In DTLA, emphasized the organization's mission: "DTLA ArtNight was created to activate Downtown Los Angeles and showcase everything that makes our city extraordinary. Our mission is to connect neighborhoods through arts and culture while inspiring people to discover the creativity, diversity, and energy that make DTLA unlike anywhere else. Expanding into the Fashion District is an exciting next step as we continue building one connected Downtown."

For the first time, the Fashion District officially joins DTLA ArtNight, inviting visitors to explore one of Downtown's fastest-growing creative communities. Known for fashion, design, and entrepreneurship, the district has evolved into a hub for galleries, artist studios, hospitality, and creative businesses. Featured partners include the Bendix Building, Kelly O'Brien Atelier × Not For Resale LA, CRE8, Mary at The STILE Hotel, and Zenith Gallery, with additional participants to be announced.

Mary at The STILE Hotel, located inside the historic United Artists Building, joins as one of the Fashion District's newest hospitality destinations. "Mary is honored to be part of DTLA ArtNight and to support the continued growth of the Fashion District. Whether guests stop in for coffee during the day or cocktails and live music in the evening, we look forward to welcoming the DTLA ArtNight community," said a representative from the hotel.

Kelly O'Brien, Founder of Kelly O'Brien Atelier × Not For Resale LA, noted: "Joining DTLA ArtNight is an exciting opportunity to welcome visitors into our working studio and share both the creative process and the finished work. Experiences like DTLA ArtNight strengthen the Fashion District as a destination for art, fashion, and creativity." CRE8 echoed this sentiment, adding, "Joining DTLA ArtNight is an exciting milestone for CRE8. Since opening our doors four years ago, we've believed in the incredible creative potential of the Fashion District. Together, we're helping bring greater awareness, connection, and vibrancy to the neighborhood while strengthening Downtown Los Angeles as one unified creative community."

DTLA ArtNight also continues to connect Downtown's premier cultural destinations through partnerships with DATALAND, The Broad, MOCA, Grand Performances, and The Colburn School. DATALAND joins with its inaugural exhibition, "Machine Dreams: Rainforest," the world's first omni-sensory AI art experience spanning more than 25,000 square feet. Refik Anadol, Co-Founder and Artistic Director of DATALAND, expressed excitement: "For many years, we have dreamed of a place where audience and artwork could merge. At DATALAND, that dream has now become reality, and we are excited to open our doors and share it with the public." Visitors attending DTLA ArtNight will have access to a special promotional booking opportunity.

Grand Performances and The Colburn School will present a special classical music program at Spiral Court at California Plaza on Thursday, August 6 at 6:00 p.m. The program explores connections across classical music eras, cultures, and traditions, pairing familiar works with music by composers whose contributions have often received less attention. The evening will include music by Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, Johann Sebastian Bach, Reena Esmail, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, and Astor Piazzolla, performed by students and alumni of The Colburn School. Rafael González, President & CEO of Grand Performances, said: "Great programming should surprise and inspire. At Grand Performances, we're always looking for ways to keep our curation fresh while creating opportunities for discovery. Our partnership with The Colburn School brings a new classical music experience to DTLA ArtNight, showcasing extraordinary music performed by students and alumni that spans cultures, generations, and traditions and reflects the diversity of voices that have enriched the classical repertoire."

As the Official Photography Sponsor, Samy's Camera and Sony Electronics will host a hands-on photography experience at Emergent Gallery, located at 125 W. 4th Street, from 6:00–9:00 p.m. Participants can borrow the latest Sony cameras and lenses, photograph DTLA ArtNight, and enter a photography competition featuring a $2,000 Grand Prize in Sony gear. Selected entries will be exhibited at Samy's Camera's Los Angeles flagship store. Roui Kamienowicz, Chief Operating Officer of Samy's Camera, explained: "This contest is about bringing people together through photography. Whether you're an experienced photographer or just getting started, we want to encourage people to get out, explore Los Angeles, try incredible Sony equipment, and share their unique perspective." Eric Bruehl of Sony Electronics added: "We're always looking for ways to inspire photographers to get out and create. Partnering with Samy's Camera and participating in DTLA ArtNight provides a unique opportunity for photographers to experience Sony's latest imaging technology while celebrating the creativity that makes Los Angeles such an incredible place to photograph."

The historic Biltmore Los Angeles will host internationally acclaimed photographer Andrei Duman and his exhibition "The Art of X Rays," accompanied by live jazz, specialty cocktails, and an artist book signing. Additional programming and participating venues will be announced in the coming days.
