Drug-Free World Brings Drug Prevention Education to Los Angeles County FIFA World Cup Watch Party

On June 24, 2026, the Drug-Free World Foundation brought its drug-prevention education campaign to a FIFA World Cup watch party at Amelia Mayberry Park in Los Angeles County, reaching hundreds of attendees with factual information about the dangers of drugs. The event, held during the Czechia vs. Mexico match, featured the Drug-Free World Mobile Exhibit and marked a significant step in the organization's FIFA World Cup campaign to promote drug-free living.

Approximately 250 people engaged directly with the exhibit, while several toured the full display. Volunteers distributed thousands of copies of the organization's Truth About Drugs educational booklets, aiming to empower individuals with knowledge to make informed, drug-free choices. The outreach generated strong interest from local community members and public service organizations, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in fostering awareness.

A local official expressed appreciation for having drug-prevention materials available at the event and suggested collaborating with the park organizer to provide boxes of educational booklets to a nearby teen center. This reflects a growing recognition of the need for accessible resources in youth-focused spaces. The exhibit also connected with individuals whose personal experiences gave particular meaning to the message. One attendee, who had overcome drug addiction and been sober for 20 years, expressed gratitude for the materials, requested to record the exhibit to share with her family, and discussed bringing Truth About Drugs materials to a school in her community.

The event organizer was so impressed with the resources that she took the remaining boxes of booklets for community distribution, expressing enthusiasm about future collaboration. Community-service professionals also expressed interest in utilizing the materials. A representative from a social services organization received an information kit and 200 booklets, and requested a Drug-Free World presentation for their clients. Another attendee, who provides medical services to unhoused individuals, requested 200 booklets after explaining that she regularly encounters the effects of drug use and wanted educational materials to share.

Children at the watch party also participated by signing the Drug-Free World pledge board, committing to live a drug-free life. By the conclusion of the event, Drug-Free World had distributed approximately 3,000 Truth About Drugs booklets, provided educational portfolios, and engaged hundreds through its prevention outreach.

The Drug-Free World Foundation is dedicated to educating young people and adults about the truth regarding drugs so they can make informed decisions and live drug-free lives. Through educational materials, community outreach, presentations, and public-awareness campaigns, the organization works with individuals, families, schools, and community stakeholders to promote drug prevention.
