Delivery Hero, the world’s leading local delivery platform, has appointed John Woyton to its Supervisory Board, effective September 9, 2026. Woyton succeeds Scott Ferguson, who stepped down to focus on other commitments. As an independent board member, Woyton will also take over Ferguson’s seats on the Audit and Strategy Committees. The appointment, announced on September 10, 2026, underscores Delivery Hero’s intent to leverage top-tier financial and technological expertise as it enters its next phase of growth.
Woyton brings over two decades of private equity and M&A experience across technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT). He began his career as an investment banking analyst before moving to The Carlyle Group. In 2008, he joined Advent International, where he spent nearly 12 years as leader of the TMT sector team and Partner, overseeing numerous investments, buyouts, and strategic transactions. From 2021 to 2024, he served as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and Managing Director at H.I.G. Capital. In 2025, he co-founded Covalent Equity Partners, a technology-focused private equity firm supporting businesses in the AI era. He is a dual US and British national.
Kristin Skogen Lund, Chair of the Supervisory Board, commented: “We're delighted to welcome John Woyton to the Supervisory Board. His extensive experience investing in and supporting technology businesses through periods of transformation will bring valuable perspective to the Board as Delivery Hero enters its next chapter. We also extend our thanks to Scott Ferguson for his valuable contribution over the last two years and wish him all the best.”
The appointment matters because Delivery Hero operates in a highly dynamic sector where rapid technological shifts—especially in artificial intelligence and quick commerce—are reshaping competitive landscapes. Woyton’s background in TMT private equity and his recent focus on AI-era businesses position him to guide strategic decisions on investments, acquisitions, and operational transformations. His role on the Audit and Strategy Committees will be critical in overseeing financial integrity and long-term planning.
Delivery Hero, headquartered in Berlin, Germany, runs its delivery platform in around 65 countries across Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. Since its founding in 2011 as a food delivery service, it has expanded into quick commerce, aiming to deliver groceries and household goods in under one hour, often within 20 to 30 minutes. The company has been listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since 2017 and is part of the MDAX index. For more information, visit www.deliveryhero.com.
Woyton added: “Few companies have built the global scale and reach that Delivery Hero has achieved in little over a decade. It operates in a sector that continues to evolve rapidly, with significant opportunities ahead. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience across technology, investment and M&A to the Supervisory Board, and working together on what comes next.”
His appointment signals Delivery Hero’s commitment to strengthening its strategic oversight as it pursues innovation and expansion in the fiercely competitive delivery and quick commerce markets. The move also highlights the growing importance of AI expertise at the board level, as companies seek to harness emerging technologies to drive efficiency and customer experience.
