Datavault AI Inc. (NASDAQ: DVLT) has announced a partnership with Available Infrastructure to tokenize and monetize Project Qestrel, a nationwide network of cybersecure edge data centers deploying across the United States. The initiative will utilize Datavault AI’s Information Data Exchange platform and patented tokenization technology. The companies expect the Project Qestrel token ($QEST) program to represent more than $1 billion in tokenized value upon full deployment, providing access and usage rights across the edge AI infrastructure network while supporting secondary market trading. Initial token offerings are targeted for the third quarter of 2026.
Project Qestrel is expected to deploy 1,000 cybersecure edge data centers across 100 U.S. cities and more than 30 states as part of an approximately $5 billion buildout. Datavault AI said the initiative expands its existing relationship with Available Infrastructure and will generate revenue through an equal-sharing arrangement, with Datavault AI providing tokenization, clearing, valuation and exchange services. The companies believe the program represents the industry’s first large-scale tokenization of a live-deploying nationwide edge AI infrastructure network, creating a new digital asset class tied to AI compute capacity.
The announcement highlights the growing trend of tokenizing real-world assets, particularly in the technology and infrastructure sectors. By converting physical data centers into digital tokens, Datavault AI aims to democratize access to AI compute power, allowing investors to gain exposure to the burgeoning edge AI market without the need for direct ownership or management of physical assets. The tokenization also enables fractional ownership, potentially lowering the barrier to entry for smaller investors and institutions alike.
This move could have significant implications for the broader AI industry. As demand for AI processing capabilities skyrockets, edge computing—where data is processed closer to the source rather than in centralized cloud data centers—is becoming increasingly critical. By creating a liquid market for AI compute capacity, Datavault AI and Available Infrastructure are positioning themselves at the forefront of a new asset class. The project also underscores the convergence of blockchain technology with AI, a trend that many industry observers believe will accelerate in the coming years.
For Datavault AI, the partnership represents a major milestone in its mission to lead in AI-driven data experiences, valuation, and monetization of assets in the Web 3.0 environment. The company’s technology suite, which includes its Information Data Exchange platform, is designed to securely attach physical real-world objects to immutable metadata, facilitating digital twins and the licensing of name, image, and likeness. The tokenization of Project Qestrel is a natural extension of this capability, applying it to physical infrastructure.
Investors should note that while the project is ambitious, it is still in its early stages. The initial token offerings are not expected until the third quarter of 2026, and the full deployment of the 1,000 edge data centers will take time. However, if successful, Project Qestrel could serve as a blueprint for future tokenization of large-scale infrastructure projects, potentially reshaping how such assets are financed and traded.
