Datavault AI (NASDAQ: DVLT) announced a proposed strategic partnership with Patriot Strategic Metals LLC to jointly develop the Strategic Materials Acquisition Platform, an institutional digital infrastructure platform designed to support the financing, tokenization, settlement and lifecycle management of strategic mineral assets. The companies said the platform would combine Patriot Strategic Metals’ strategic metals operations with Datavault AI’s real-world asset tokenization technology, AI-enabled digital infrastructure and blockchain-based settlement capabilities.
The proposed partnership contemplates an initial Phase I platform development program of up to $700 million, subject to financing, definitive agreements, board approvals and regulatory requirements, with approximately $62 million allocated for Datavault AI-related technology integration, licensing and platform development. Datavault AI said the framework is intended to create recurring revenue opportunities through technology licensing, platform services and transaction-based activities, while providing the company with a 25% share of net distributable platform profits unless otherwise agreed for specific transactions or special purpose vehicles.
This announcement marks a significant step for Datavault AI as it expands its footprint in the tokenization of real-world assets, a growing sector that bridges traditional commodities with blockchain technology. By leveraging its AI-driven data experiences and Web 3.0 capabilities, the company aims to provide a comprehensive solution for the valuation and monetization of strategic mineral assets. The partnership with Patriot Strategic Metals, which specializes in strategic metals operations, brings domain expertise in the sourcing and management of these critical resources.
The platform is expected to facilitate the financing and settlement of mineral assets, potentially increasing liquidity and transparency in a market that has traditionally been opaque. For investors, the venture could open new avenues for exposure to strategic minerals, which are essential for technologies ranging from electric vehicles to defense systems. Datavault AI’s technology, which includes its Information Data Exchange for creating digital twins and attaching metadata to physical assets, is central to the platform’s ability to tokenize and manage these assets securely.
Datavault AI’s Acoustic Sciences division, featuring WiSA and ADIO technologies, and its Data Sciences division, which focuses on Web 3.0 and high-performance computing, provide the underlying infrastructure for the platform. The company serves industries including sports, entertainment, biotech, fintech, and energy. The proposed platform aligns with broader trends toward digitizing physical assets and could position Datavault AI as a key player in the strategic minerals ecosystem.
While the partnership is subject to several conditions, including financing and regulatory approvals, the potential $700 million development program underscores the scale of the opportunity. Datavault AI’s 25% profit share from the platform provides a direct incentive for the company to drive adoption and efficiency.
