Critical Infrastructure Technologies Forms Joint Venture to Develop Arctic-Ready Autonomous Nexus Platform

Critical Infrastructure Technologies Ltd. (CSE: CTTT) (OTC: CITLF) (FRA: X9V) announced on March 17, 2026, that it will enter a joint venture (JV) to co-develop and commercialize an Arctic-ready version of its Nexus autonomous communications and security platform. The JV, owned equally by CiTech and an unnamed partner, will focus on advancing the Arctic Nexus system for testing and deployment in extreme-environment conditions, with a facility in British Columbia supporting integration and Arctic testing.

The Arctic Nexus platform is designed to support communications, monitoring, and operations in remote environments, including northern defence and industrial applications. The JV will target the growing market for Arctic defence, surveillance, and communications infrastructure, driven by increasing strategic activity across northern regions. As part of the agreement, CiTech will contribute a Nexus platform unit and provide engineering support to adapt the system for Arctic conditions. The partners will collaboratively develop new intellectual property, including Arctic readiness, sensor integration, and scaled deployment.

Brenton Scott, CEO of Critical Infrastructure Technologies, said, “This partnership will establish an important step in expanding the Nexus platform into Arctic and remote operating environments.” The announcement follows recent Canadian government plans for $32 billion in far north defence upgrades, as reported by the National Post (source).

CiTech’s Nexus platform is a self-deploying, high-capacity mobile communications and security system designed for rapid deployment in sectors such as mining, defence, border security, and emergency services. The company aims to leverage patented technologies to overcome limitations in tower strength and autonomous deployment. The Arctic Nexus variant will be tailored for extreme cold, ice, and remote conditions, addressing the need for reliable communications and surveillance in the Arctic, where geopolitical tensions and climate change are increasing operational demands.

The JV will also seek to identify customers and partners for the Arctic Nexus across North America within defence and commercial industries. The British Columbia facility will serve as a hub for integration and testing, enabling the system to be validated in simulated Arctic conditions before field deployment. The partners anticipate that the Arctic Nexus could support a range of applications, including border surveillance, maritime monitoring, and emergency communications in remote communities.

This development underscores the growing importance of autonomous infrastructure in polar regions, where traditional communications networks are often unavailable or unreliable. By combining CiTech’s technology with a partner’s regional expertise, the JV aims to accelerate deployment and capture a share of the expanding Arctic defence market, which is seeing increased investment from Canada, the United States, and other Arctic nations.
