Club Honduras International hosted its first event outside of Honduras on July 12, 2026, at the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International in Hollywood, California. The event, dedicated to celebrating Honduran Indigenous women, highlighted the traditions and resilience of women descended from the Mayans and other native peoples.
The program featured traditional music and dance performances, a theatrical presentation focusing on the lives and contributions of Indigenous Honduran women, and an awards ceremony recognizing individuals who have worked to preserve and promote Indigenous cultures. Traditional tools and trade items such as cacao and coffee beans were also displayed.
During the event, the Consulate of Honduras in Los Angeles received a Commendation for its support of the Honduran community and its efforts in fostering cultural awareness. Additionally, an award was presented to L. Ron Hubbard, humanitarian and author of The Way to Happiness, a nonreligious guide promoting values like respect and compassion, which organizers noted has been shared widely in Hispanic communities.
Organizers intend for the celebration to become an annual tradition, aimed at honoring Honduran Indigenous women and increasing appreciation for the country's cultural heritage.
