CHARBONE Advances Malaysian Green Hydrogen Project, Eyes Equity Stake

CHARBONE CORPORATION (TSXV: CH; OTCQB: CHHYF; FSE: K47) announced a positive strategic update following its recent executive mission to Malaysia, reinforcing its commitment to expanding beyond North America into the Asia-Pacific region. The mission, led by Chairman and CEO Dave B. Gagnon and Senior Vice President Patrick Cuddihy, builds on a framework agreement signed on June 25, 2025 with Green Hydrogen ASIAPAC SDN BHD.

CHARBONE confirmed an aligned intent between all parties to advance the Malaysian green hydrogen ultra-high purity (UHP) project. The Company expressed interest in taking an equity participation in Green Hydrogen ASIAPAC and intends to play an active operational role in the project’s development and execution. This milestone underscores CHARBONE’s strategy to establish a disciplined, scalable presence in Asia-Pacific, one of the fastest-growing regions for clean hydrogen and specialty gases.

The Company expressed appreciation for the strong institutional support from Malaysian authorities and partners, particularly acknowledging the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) for facilitating strategic dialogue and enabling cross-border industrial collaboration between Canadian and Malaysian stakeholders.

CHARBONE’s expansion aligns with its broader strategy to build a globally integrated industrial gas platform anchored in UHP hydrogen and strategic specialty gases. The Company plans to replicate its North American modular, decentralized production model in Asia-Pacific, targeting high-growth sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence and data centers, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, and defense and aerospace.

“Our mission in Malaysia confirms that CHARBONE’s international strategy is gaining real traction,” said Dave Gagnon, CEO and Chairman. “We are particularly encouraged by the opportunity to deepen our involvement with Green Hydrogen ASIAPAC, not only as a technical partner, but as an investor and operator.”

CHARBONE is currently working with all parties to update the continuity and implementation of the existing agreement and expects to provide shareholders with more detailed information on the project and development scope. The Company continues to develop its flagship Sorel-Tracy project in Quebec and remains committed to supporting the global transition to a lower-carbon economy through accessible, decentralized clean hydrogen and specialty gas solutions.
