Canamera Energy Metals Expands Critical Minerals Focus with Wyoming Uranium Project Acquisition

Canamera Energy Metals (CSE: EMET) (OTCQB: EMETF), a rare earth and critical metals exploration company, has signed an option agreement to acquire up to a 90% total interest in the Great Divide Basin uranium project in Wyoming. The project comprises 104 unpatented mining claims covering approximately 2,080 acres in the Great Divide Basin region, an area historically known for uranium production. This acquisition signals the company's entry into the uranium exploration market in the United States.

The Great Divide Basin is recognized for its roll-front uranium mineralization, a type of deposit that is often economically viable. The project's proximity to advanced-stage uranium projects in the district provides a strong geologic foundation for systematic exploration. Canamera CEO Brad Brodeur noted that the Great Divide Basin represents an attractive opportunity to expand the company's critical minerals focus into uranium. Historical drilling data and the presence of roll-front mineralization further support the project's potential.

Canamera Energy Metals is building a portfolio of district-scale opportunities across the Americas. The company's existing asset base includes the Mantle project in British Columbia, the Garrow rare earth elements project in Northern Ontario, the Schryburt Lake rare earth and niobium project in Ontario, the Iron Hills critical and rare earth project in Colorado, USA, and the Turvolândia and São Sepé rare earth element projects in Brazil. Across this portfolio, Canamera targets underexplored regions with strong geological signatures and supportive jurisdictions, applying geochemical, geophysical, and geological datasets to generate and advance high-conviction, first-mover exploration targets.

The acquisition of the Great Divide Basin project aligns with the growing demand for critical minerals, including uranium, which is essential for nuclear power generation. As countries seek to reduce carbon emissions and transition to cleaner energy sources, uranium has regained attention as a reliable low-carbon energy source. The U.S. government has also shown interest in bolstering domestic uranium production to reduce reliance on foreign imports. This move by Canamera positions the company to capitalize on these trends while diversifying its commodity exposure beyond rare earth elements.
