CAHEC, a nonprofit community development organization based in Raleigh, North Carolina, has appointed Corine Sheridan to its Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2026. Sheridan brings over 40 years of experience in affordable housing finance and investment, enhancing CAHEC's capacity to advance its mission of building stronger communities through affordable housing and supportive services.
Sheridan retired in late 2024 after a distinguished career focused on expanding access to affordable housing nationwide. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President and Head of Acquisitions at Berkadia from 2021 to 2024, where she led the Tax Credit Syndication team's nationwide origination and acquisition strategy. In that role, she oversaw complex transactions and collaborated with tax credit investors to support the development and preservation of affordable housing communities.
Prior to her tenure at Berkadia, Sheridan spent nearly two decades at Boston Capital, serving as Director of Originations from 2003 to 2021. There, she developed and executed the firm's targeted nationwide origination strategy, helping expand its impact while supporting developers and partners committed to affordable housing. Her leadership directed capital to communities with critical housing needs across the United States.
In 2024, Sheridan co-founded Sheridan Consulting, a firm that provides financial and organizational expertise to nonprofits, housing authorities, and other affordable housing practitioners. Through this work, she continues to support mission-driven organizations with strategic guidance, operational insight, and industry knowledge.
Sheridan's nonprofit leadership includes serving on the boards of the Light House Shelter in Annapolis, Maryland; the Anne Arundel County Affordable Housing Coalition; and the Real Estate Committee of True Ground (formerly the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing) in Arlington, Virginia. Her board service underscores her dedication to addressing housing instability and supporting organizations that serve vulnerable populations.
"Corine is a passionate advocate for affordable housing. Her keen understanding of market dynamics, earned respect among peers, and deep-rooted relationships - let alone her dynamic personality - allow her the opportunity to make a strong impact on what is already a highly engaged CAHEC Board," said Dana Boole, President and CEO of CAHEC.
