BOXABL, a company known for its modular building systems, has announced a representation, import and distribution agreement with TerraCaita Limited, based in Bristol, England. The agreement will support the introduction of BOXABL's factory-built housing products across the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Under the terms, TerraCaita will represent BOXABL products in the region, and BOXABL will provide two Casita units for display, demonstration and marketing activities.
The collaboration extends beyond distribution; the companies will work together on regulatory approvals, market development and customer engagement initiatives. This partnership is a strategic move for BOXABL as it seeks to expand its international presence. The company noted that the agreement supports future sales opportunities across multiple market segments, including residential and commercial applications.
The announcement comes as BOXABL continues preparations for its proposed business combination with FG Merger II Corp. (NASDAQ: FGMC) and its anticipated public listing. The merger with the special purpose acquisition company is expected to provide BOXABL with additional capital to accelerate its growth plans.
BOXABL's flagship product, the Casita, is a 361-square-foot studio unit that unfolds on-site in less than an hour. The unit includes a full kitchen, bathroom and utilities, and is manufactured inside BOXABL's facilities. The company also offers the Baby Box, a smaller 120-square-foot unit built to RV code, intended for simpler, no-foundation setups. Additionally, BOXABL is developing stackable and connectable box models that can be combined to form townhomes, multifamily units or larger single-family homes.
The expansion into the UK and Ireland represents a significant milestone for BOXABL as it aims to address housing challenges globally. By partnering with TerraCaita, BOXABL gains access to local expertise in navigating regulatory landscapes and market dynamics. The company's modular approach promises to deliver affordable, high-quality homes at unprecedented speed, which could be particularly appealing in regions facing housing shortages.
