Boerne, Texas, is calling visitors to experience its refined Hill Country hospitality, featuring elevated dining at local restaurants and the anticipated opening of Missick Cellars, a new winery. Despite recent flooding in parts of the Texas Hill Country, Boerne remains open and vibrant, offering a culinary and hospitality scene that enhances the region's appeal. Located just 30 miles northwest of San Antonio, the town provides a sophisticated yet relaxed escape.
Missick Cellars, Boerne's newest winery, is set to open after a successful soft opening. Led by winemaker Chris Missick, the winery offers private wine tasting experiences directly with the winemaker, providing a personal touch beyond typical tasting rooms. The winery has already gained international recognition, recently winning an award at an international wine competition. Its beautifully designed space reflects the character of the Texas Hill Country, and visitors can add Missick Cellars to their itinerary as it opens its doors in the coming days.
Boerne has emerged as a premier food destination in the Hill Country, with restaurants offering elevated dining that rivals metropolitan scenes while retaining small-town warmth. The Kendall Restaurant, housed within the historic 1859 Kendall landmark on Cibolo Creek, delivers a sophisticated farm-to-table fine dining experience showcasing local flavors. Cypress Grille, a local favorite, pairs seasonal ingredients with expert preparation and offers events like BBQ Sundays and Wine Wednesdays with bottles at 40% off. Cypress Grille is also expanding and will open a new bar space this fall. Valeria brings upscale European dining with a seasonally evolving menu by Chef Keith Kuhn, featuring seafood, artisanal pizzas, house-made pasta, and grass-fed steaks. Guests can book curated wine dinners or cooking classes for an immersive experience.
Beyond dining, Boerne offers a complete weekend retreat. The Kendall Hotel, a boutique inn with 34 individually designed rooms, four event venues, and a celebrated restaurant, sits steps from Main Plaza and the historic Hill Country Mile. Art Spa House, a premium day spa on the Hill Country Mile, provides customized treatments like relaxation massages and organic facials. "Boerne's doors are wide open and our restaurant and hospitality community is ready to deliver unforgettable experiences," said Tori Bellos, Visit Boerne Marketing Specialist. "From world-class fine dining to our newest winery, there has never been a better time to plan a Hill Country getaway."
