Angkor Resources Drills Initial Program at Andong Bor Copper-Gold Target, Cambodia

Angkor Resources Corp. (TSXV: ANK, OTCQB: ANKOF) has completed the first phase of its diamond drilling program at the Andong Bor copper-gold target in Cambodia, intersecting substantial mineralization that underscores the project's potential. The company planned a total of 2,800 meters of drilling, with the initial 1,099 meters completed in mid-July across three holes at the Thmei North target, a one-square-kilometer copper anomaly.

Dennis Ouellette, VP Exploration, reported that two of the three holes encountered good porphyry and skarn mineralization over the 400 meters each was drilled, with portions of skarn especially well mineralized. The third hole contained a run of over 200 meters with continuous pyrite mineralization up to 20%. These results are significant as they confirm the presence of a mineralized system at depth, validating the company's exploration model.

The drilling program was strategically scheduled around Cambodia's seasonal weather patterns. The first phase occurred before the heaviest rains, while the remaining 1,700 meters will be drilled in early 2027 once fields are dry and crops harvested, minimizing surface disturbance and ensuring access to targets. The second phase will follow the same hole orientation—drilled to the east—to better intersect mineralized beds, as identified from 2025 drilling which showed main structures striking north-northwest and dipping steeply west.

Core from the completed holes is currently being logged, photographed, and sampled, with selected intervals dispatched for assay. This systematic approach will provide detailed geochemical data to guide further exploration. The company plans to continue activity on Thmei North and also initiate work on Thmei South in 2027, expanding the scope of exploration within the 100.28 square kilometer Andong Bor license, which straddles Oddar Meanchey and Banteay Meanchey provinces.

The Andong Bor project is part of Angkor's broader strategy in Cambodia, where it holds two mineral exploration licenses with multiple copper and gold prospects. The company is also advancing oil and gas exploration under its subsidiary EnerCam Resources, having completed 2D seismic and identified multiple drill targets. Angkor's commitment to exploration in Cambodia positions it as a key player in the country's resource development.

These initial drilling results at Andong Bor are important as they not only confirm the presence of mineralization but also provide critical data for planning the next phase. The positive intersections of porphyry and skarn mineralization, along with significant pyrite zones, indicate a robust hydrothermal system that could host economic copper and gold resources. The upcoming assays will be crucial in determining the grades and extent of mineralization, potentially elevating the project's status.

As the company awaits assay results and prepares for the next drilling phase, the implications are substantial. Successful results could attract further investment and partnerships, accelerating development. Moreover, the exploration activities contribute to Cambodia's growing mining sector, potentially leading to new discoveries that benefit the local economy. The careful planning around seasonal constraints demonstrates Angkor's operational efficiency and commitment to responsible exploration, ensuring minimal environmental impact while maximizing data collection.

In the coming months, the company's focus will be on analyzing the core and integrating results into its geological model. The second phase of drilling in 2027 will test extensions of the mineralized zones and explore new targets, with the goal of defining a resource. The company's progress in Cambodia, both in minerals and energy, underscores its role as a pioneer in the region's resource development.
