Andina Copper Extends Cobrasco Porphyry System with Near-Surface Intercepts

Andina Copper reports drillhole CDH008 at the Cobrasco Project in Colombia returned 272m of 0.50% Cu, 75ppm Mo from 52m, expanding the mineralized footprint to 1,100m by 550m with mineralization open in all directions.

Andina Copper Extends Cobrasco Porphyry System with Near-Surface Intercepts

Andina Copper Corporation (TSX-V: ANDC | FSE: FIR | OTCQB: PMMCF) has reported outstanding drill intercepts from the Cobrasco Project in Choco, Colombia, with drillhole CDH008 further confirming the northwest extension of the Cobrasco Cu-Mo mineralized system. The hole returned 272 meters at 0.50% copper, 75 ppm molybdenum, and 1.92 g/t silver from 52 meters downhole, including a higher-grade interval of 152 meters at 0.67% copper, 68 ppm molybdenum, and 1.90 g/t silver from 54 meters.

Drillhole CDH008 was completed to a downhole depth of 652.25 meters, targeting the northern continuity of the shallow mineralized zone at Cobrasco Central. Near-surface mineralization begins at approximately 52 meters and is associated with multiple mineralized porphyry phases and related magmatic-hydrothermal breccias. The drillhole intersected a leached cap with intense supergene alteration over intermineral rhyolite porphyry, followed by a 30-meter interval containing chalcocite coating hypogene sulphides, indicating incipient secondary copper enrichment.

The strongest mineralization is associated with potassic and sericite-altered magmatic-hydrothermal breccias spatially related to intermineral rhyolite porphyry intrusions. Higher copper-molybdenum grades are consistently found in hydrothermal breccia phases, where chalcopyrite occurs as matrix infill and thin cross-cutting veinlets overprinting earlier molybdenite mineralization. Bornite was locally observed, commonly rimming chalcopyrite, suggesting a later higher-sulphidation mineralizing event.

Two additional drillholes have been completed from the same platform: CDH009 (completed, assays pending) and CDH010 (in progress). Visual logging indicates sulphide mineralization consistent with the broader Cobrasco Central system. The Cobrasco mineralized footprint currently extends approximately 1,100 meters along strike and 550 meters laterally, remaining open in all directions with further expansion potential toward the northwest and west-southwest.

Andina Copper’s President and CEO Joseph van den Elsen commented: “We continue to systematically advance a wide-spaced scout drilling programme, actively testing the limits of the Cobrasco system with wide fans of significant step-out drillholes. The system continues to grow with each successive drillhole, with the mineralization footprint already covering an area of ~1,100m x 550m, and results from CDH009 and CDH010 expected to further extend.” He added that surface geochemistry and field observations strongly suggest mineralization continues to the north and northwest, and preparations are being made for mobilizing a second diamond drilling rig to support definition drilling of Cobrasco Central and new porphyry centers.
