Financial educator and entrepreneur Nettie Reeves is launching the 'Pretty Broke' Movement, a national financial empowerment initiative aimed at helping one million women transition from financial uncertainty to confidence. The movement draws its name from her chapter 'Pretty Broke: The Price Women Pay To Fit In' in the Amazon #1 best-selling book Financial Trendsetters 4. Reeves argues that many women inherit financial barriers—encouraged to invest in appearance and care for others while receiving little education about wealth building—and the movement seeks to change that narrative.
'Pretty Broke isn't about criticizing women or how they choose to spend their money,' said Reeves. 'It's about helping women realize they deserve to invest in their financial future with the same confidence they invest in every other part of their lives. You may not have written the first chapters of your financial story, but you have the power to write what comes next.'
Reeves, CEO of In Shape Financial Solutions, has a background in health and wellness, earning national recognition including the Steve Harvey Community Award and recognition during the Obama Administration. She now champions the belief that being financially in shape is as important as being physically in shape.
The movement launches with an exclusive, invitation-only Pretty Broke Experience on August 22 at 2:00 p.m. Women, community leaders, and advocates for financial empowerment are encouraged to contact In Shape Financial Solutions to request an invitation. The initiative aims to foster conversations about money that can change a family's future, with the goal of empowering one million women to rewrite their financial stories.
'Every conversation about money has the power to change a family's future. Every financially empowered woman has the power to change generations,' Reeves added.
