SG Lab has launched the G·GRIP Pro, the world's first AI-powered intelligent golf club with built-in sensors that analyze grip pressure in real time, on Kickstarter. The club, which has already earned two CES 2025 Innovation Awards and a CES 2026 Award, aims to transform golf instruction by revealing the hidden causes behind inconsistent swings.
Golfers often struggle to improve despite years of practice and lessons because the critical elements of a swing—hand pressure and subtle club movements—are invisible to the naked eye. Traditional analysis devices provide only result-based data such as distance and direction, leaving the underlying reasons for poor shots unexplained. G·GRIP Pro addresses this gap by integrating sensors directly into the club to measure finger-by-finger pressure changes, swing path, face angle, and tempo without requiring cameras or wearable devices.
What distinguishes G·GRIP Pro is its focus on causation rather than just outcomes. By correlating grip pressure changes with swing path and face angle, it enables more fundamental swing corrections. Measured data is stored as "Swing DNA," allowing golfers to accumulate personal swing patterns and compare them against their best swings. The AI-based coaching system provides intuitive sentence-style feedback, helping users understand both the cause of issues and ways to improve. Real-time feedback through haptic and earbud support allows immediate correction during play, while the club maintains a weight and balance similar to a conventional golf club for a natural feel.
Practical features include on-device data storage, IP68 waterproof and dustproof protection, and a long-lasting battery, making it suitable for real field environments. The club was developed based on the long coaching experience of founder Eddie Cho, a former PGA professional, and represents a new approach that expands traditional feel-based golf instruction into data-driven training. SG Lab is currently conducting technical validation with multiple PGA professionals and global golf academies, with the ultimate goal of standardizing golf data.
An SG Lab representative stated, "G·GRIP Pro is not simply a swing measurement device, but a data-driven golf training tool that helps golfers accurately understand and repeatedly refine their swings," adding, "Through this Kickstarter launch, we aim to introduce a new data-driven golf experience to golfers around the world."
The implications of this launch are significant for the golf industry. By making advanced swing analysis accessible through a single club, G·GRIP Pro could democratize high-level coaching insights that were previously available only to tour professionals. It shifts the paradigm from reactive, result-based practice to proactive, cause-based improvement, potentially shortening the learning curve for millions of golfers. The successful funding of this project on the Kickstarter website could accelerate the adoption of AI-driven training tools across sports, setting a new standard for how athletes analyze and refine their technique.
G·GRIP Pro is available for backing starting October 6th, 2026, with special benefits planned for launch day backers.
